2.17 Layout Types

Different layout types are available for the main transaction form. The layout types available include:

• Simple Customer: Select this type if entering a customer (Bill To) is important. With this type, the customer's store credit balance and other info is displayed along with the name.
• Simple Tender: This type is useful if you want to tender a transaction as quickly as possible. You can tender the transaction directly from the main transaction form.
• Simple Customer-Tender: Select this type if you want the benefits of both the Simple Customer and Simple Tender layouts.
• Standard Shipping Layout: This type is especially useful if you often have to enter a Ship To customer on transactions. This is the only layout type that includes both Bill To and Ship To customer information on the main transaction form.

To change the layout type, navigate to Admin Console > Node Preferences > Themes and Layouts > Transaction Screen Layout. The default type is "Simple Customer".

Simple Customer (default)
The Simple Customer layout is optimized for entering and displaying customer information on the form.

Quick Tender
The Simple Tender layout is optimized for selecting tenders and simplifying the payment process.

Simple Customer & Quick Tender
The Simple Customer/Simple Tender layout includes features to optimize both entry of a customer and selection of a tender.

Standard Shipping Layout
This layout does not have any tender buttons or customer lookup area. To enter a customer, the user must go into Transaction Details.
