Taken Amount not Visible in the Tender Screen

What to do when the "Taken Amount" is not visible in the Tender Screen

When your computer's display view is set to something other than 100%, the Taken Amount may not be visible when on the Tender Screen in Retail Pro 9.

This image on top shows the tender screen when the display setting is at 100%. Notice how you can see the "Taken Amount". The image on bottom shows the tender screen when the display setting is at 125%. The "Taken Amount" is now not viewable.

If you are experiencing this issue, the resolution is as follows:

  1. Navigate to Control Panel > Display. If the default is set to "medium - 125%", change the setting to "Smaller -100%" and apply the change.
  2. Reboot the machine.
  3. Check the setting again to make sure the default is set to 100%. If this is correct, you should no longer see the problem. If the default is still set to 125%, proceed to step 4.
  4. If the default is still set to medium - 125%, you will have to edit some registry setting. Always export the registry before editing so you can import it back to restore the original configuration.
  5. Adjust the registry as shown below:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontDPI]
"LogPixels"=dword:00000060
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts]
"Courier 10,12,15"="COURE.FON"
"MS Sans Serif 8,10,12,14,18,24"="SSERIFE.FON"
"MS Serif 8,10,12,14,18,24"="SERIFE.FON"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0000\Software\Fonts]
"LogPixels"=dword:00000060
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\0001\Software\Fonts]
"LogPixels"=dword:00000060
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Hardware Profiles\Current\Software\Fonts]
"LogPixels"=dword:00000060
[HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Desktop]
"LogPixels"=dword:00000060

  1. Once those changes have been made, reboot the machine.
  2. Launch Retail Pro 9 to confirm if the issue is resolved.
