How to update PO On Order quantity in inventory
This guide will show step-by-step how to populate the On Order quantity for an item. The On Order field can be found in Inventory > Item Details > Qty tab.
Step 1:
Have an item you want to purchase quantity for. Go to Store Operations > Purchasing > New Purchase Order to create a new order.
Step 2:
List the item on the PO, and specify the Order Qty. Select the item and click Show Allocations. You will find there is an On Order field within the grid, in between Order Qty and Received Qty fields. If the item has never been listed on a PO, it will display as 0.
Step 3:
Save the Purchase Order. Go to Inventory > Item Details > Qty tab. Locate the On Order field within the quantity grid. Notice the field shows 0 after saving the order.
Step 4:
Browse to TechToolKit and log in, locate the Data Utilities tab in the top right corner. Click the drop down and select SRO Tool.
Step 5:
Use the following SRO Tool documentation to create and run a preset:

Make sure in your preset that you choose a date range that includes the created date of the PO.
Step 6:
After running the tool, go back to Inventory > Item Details > Qty tab and find the On Order field. Notice it is now updated to the amount of ordered quantity listed on the PO.
