Feature no longer available to users following a core update but is available to SYSADMIN

Symptom:
Unable to perform an action in Retail Pro 8 unless logged in as SYSADMIN.

Background:
From time to time new security settings are added to Retail Pro 8. These settings affect areas that up until the application of the patch containing the change were uncontrolled by security for users. When users attempt to use newly controlled features they will be unable to until the new security settings have been registered and assigned appropriately in security administrator.

Solution:
Re- register the new RPRO8.sec file

Steps:
As a part of the core patch you would have received the latest RPRO8.SEC file. This file contains the new privilege control. To register the new settings you must do the following.
1. As the SYSADMIN user go into Tools>Security Administrator>
2. Click on the register files icon
3. Browse to locate the RPRO8.SEC file and click open.
4. Click the "Groups" tab
5. Under area make sure "RPRO" is selected
6. Select the group you want to assign the privilege to and locate the new privilege.
7. Now save and have the user log back in and attempt the action again.

NOTES:
Anytime a feature that was otherwise working under a specific users group is now grayed out and apparently no longer working it should be tested under the SYSADMIN user to ensure that the feature itself is not broken.
Also you should always review the release notes that are sent out each core. This will have valuable information about added features and fixes made to the application including changes to security.
Release notes for past and present cores are available on the doucment portal
