This drawer cannot be closed

Problem:

In V9, a user is trying to close the drawer but is unable to close it and encounters the following error message:
"This drawer cannot be closed"

Symptom:
When attempting to close the open register, you receive the following error message:
"This drawer cannot be closed."

 

Cause:
This issue typically occurs due to the setting "Limit ZOUT Retrieval to" under System Preferences. Specifically, the value set in this field under Local Preferences > Point of Sale > X/Z Out may be too low, which can prevent the register from closing.

Solution:
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

1. Go to System Preferences.
2. Navigate to Local Preferences > Point of Sale > X/Z Out.
3. Increase the value in the "Limit ZOUT Retrieval to" field to a higher number, for example, 99999.
4. After updating the setting, the user should be able to close and open the register again.

Ensure the new limit is sufficient for your operation to avoid encountering the same issue in the future. If the problem persists after adjusting the setting, it may require further investigation of system configurations.
