Troubleshooting a sqlplus.exe error during RIL Management Installation in Retail Pro Prism

While installing RIL Management, you may run into an error that says, "sqlplus.exe not found." When you get this error, it will cause RIL Management not to install.

This error is due to Windows Security being configured to prevent the use of unsigned executables.

Note: RIL Management is installed for Prism versions prior to 2.x.

 

In order to correct this problem, follow these steps:

1. Open the Run dialog box by pressing Windows+R.

2. Type inetcpl.cpl and press Enter.

3. Click on the "Internet" zone.

4. Uncheck the "Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)" checkbox.

5. Click on "Custom Level..."

6. Locate the "Launching applications and unsafe files" option.

7. Set the option to "Enable (not secure)".

8. Click "Apply" and then "OK".

9. Restart the installation of the RIL Management application.

10. When the installation is complete you can restore the setting to its original state.
