Knowledge Base Article: Installing and Configuring Prism Property Management Link (PMLink)
Overview
This guide outlines the steps to install and configure Prism Property Management Link (PMLink) version 2.4.1.1024. PMLink integrates Prism with Property Management Systems (PMS), enabling communication for charge and transaction management.
1. Install Prism PMLink
Follow the steps below to install Prism PMLink:
- Run the Installer:
- Navigate to T:\Products\Prism\PML\PrismPML_1.0.0.0. (Inhouse test).
- Double-click on PrismPMLInstaller.exe to start the installation process.
- Follow the installation prompts:
- Select Install.
- Once the installation completes, select Finish.
- Start the Prism PML Server:
- Open the Windows Services manager.
- Locate and start the Prism PML Server service.

2. Login to Prism
- Open the Prism application.
- Log in using your credentials.
3. Configure Prism PMLink in Prism Administration Console
- Access the Administration Console:
- From the Prism dashboard, navigate to the Prism Administration Console.
- Add a New Customization:
- In the Administration Console, select Customizations.
- Click the Add New Customization button.
- Complete the Customization Configuration:
- A new Customization Configuration form will appear.
- In the Name field, enter PML. (Important: The name must be exactly "PML", not "PrismPML").
- In the Configuration Data field, enter the URL for the PrismPML server:
- Example: http://10.50.100.116:50000/PrismPML
- Click Save.
- A new Customization Configuration form will appear.

4. Configure HAL Settings for Workstations
- Access Workstation Node Preferences:
- In Node Preferences, scroll down to the Node Selection section.
- Select the workstation to be used for PML charges and click the pencil icon to edit.

2. Set HAL Settings:
- In the HAL Settings tab, choose the workstation from the dropdown list.
- Select Customizations Active and click the Add Customization button.
- Choose the PML customization from the list and click Add Customization.
3. Save the Configuration:

- Click Save to apply the changes.
5. Log Out and Log Back In
- Log out of Prism and then log back in for the changes to take effect.
6. Access PML Configuration in Retail Pro Admin Console
- Open Retail Pro Admin Console:
- Click on the Retail Pro button in Prism.
- In the bottom right corner of the screen, click the Retail Pro button again.
- Access PML Configuration:
- The PML Configuration will now be visible at the top of the menu.
- Click the PML Configuration button to open the PML configuration settings.

7. Match PML Configuration with PMS
- In the PML Configuration window, ensure that the settings match the details from the PMS.
In the case of a test environment, use the simulator provided (e.g., I:\ANasrat\PML\PMSTestServer) to match the information. (Inhouse test).


8. Add the License File to PML
- Naming the License File:
- The license file must be named PrismPML.lic (case-sensitive).
- Place the license file in the same directory as PrismPML.exe.
- Default Directory:
By default, the folder for PrismPML is located at:
[Drive]:\ProgramData\RetailPro\AddOns\PrismPML.
9. Add Charge Tender in Retail Pro
- Navigate to Node Preferences:
- In the Admin Console, go to Node Preferences > Transaction > Tenders > Requirements.
- Enable Charge Tender:
- Check the Take/Give Charge option.
- Click Save.
- Logout and Login:
- Log out and log back in for the settings to take effect.
