"Unable to connect to server" due to IPv6 enabled
Symptom
You receive the following error when attempting to run RP Prism Proxy application shortcut:
Note:There can be various reasons why you are receiving this message, but one possible reason which we will cover in this article, is that the Prism Server has IPv6 enabled. (Internet Protocol version 6). The below steps will describe how to disable IPv6 on the RP Prism Server computer, which may solve the problem.
Note:DO NOT under any circumstances uninstall APACHE without direct instruction to do so from Technical Support. This will not fix the issue, and it may cause additional problems.
Step 1
Ping the hostname of the server computer to determine if the server computer has IPv6 enabled. If the Server computer shows an IPv6 address, proceed to step 2. If the Server computer shows an IPv4 address, your issue is something unrelated to this article.
Example of IPv6 address:2002:4559:1FE2::4559:1FE2
Example of IPv4 address:98.139.180.149

Step 2
Disable IPv6 from the Server computer. Click here for steps to disable IPv6
Once IPv6 is disabled on the Server computer, move on to Step 3.
Step 3
Ping the hostname of the server computer again, to determine if the server computer has IPv4 enabled.

If the server computer shows an IPv4 address, move on to step 4.
Step 4
Attempt to launch the RP Prism Proxy application.
