How to Disable IE Enhanced Security Configuration Setting in Windows Server Versions 2012+

In Windows Server versions 2012+, there is an extra security setting that defines how users browse the internet and intranet websites.

This is an extra setting and needs to be disabled, as it may cause connection issues with the Retail Pro Prism Server which can prevent proper communication.

For example, you may encounter problems with the following:

  • Replication
  • Joining the Enterprise (JTE)
  • UI access

Solution

Follow the steps below to disable this extra security.

1. Navigate to Server Manager > Local Server. Click on the "IE Enhanced Security Configuration." The "On" is the link to the configuration.

IE Enhanced Security Configuration

2. Set the Administrator and User settings to Off.

Set the Administrator and User settings to Off.
