Upgrade from 1.12.5 to 1.13.0

This section provides a high-level overview of the steps for doing an over-the-top upgrade from 1.12.5 to 1.13.0.  The instructions vary slightly depending on whether the machine is the Root Authority (Prism HQ) or a child POA/store server; therefore, two versions are provided. Refer to the correct steps for the machine being upgraded.

Key Changes between 1.12.5 and 1.13.0 that impact Upgrade Process

  • In Prism 1.13.0, we recommend that only the Root Authority machine (aka Prism HQ) has a connection to Retail Pro 9. As part of the upgrade process, remove existing connections to V9 servers at systems other than the Root Authority machine; keep the V9 connection at the Root Authority machine.
  • Security permissions are now configured in Store Operations > Employees > Group Management. In previous versions of Prism, security permissions were configured in the Admin Console area. After upgrading to 1.13.0, review new permissions and modify existing group permission assignments if needed.
  • In the Upgrade steps, we recommend you delete old All Resources profiles and unneeded connections. You can continue to use All Resources profiles if you want; however, be aware that your old All Resources profiles, by default, won't include the many new resources added in 1.13.0. In addition, replicating data using All Resources profiles tends to send so much data that it takes a long time to replicate it all. Therefore, our best practice recommendation is to delete All Resources profiles and only recreate new All Resources profiles if truly needed.
