How to Resolve the "This Drawer Cannot be Closed" Error Message in Retail Pro Prism

Users may run into an error in which they cannot close an open register due to the following error message, "This drawer cannot be closed." An example of the message can be seen below:

This error often occurs because the "Limit ZOUT Retrieval to:" setting is set too low in System Preferences under Local Preferences > Point of Sale > X/Z out.  (See below)

 

Solution

Raise the "Limit ZOUT retrieval to:" setting to a higher value, like 9999 for example. Then close the open register.
