Initializing Multiple Retail Pro Prism Workstations
Initializing Multiple Retail Pro Prism Workstations
Multiple Retail Pro Prism workstations can be initialized concurrently. This can be done in two ways.
Method # 1:
- First, navigate to the Admin Console.
- In the Data Replication Dialog, under "V9 Publisher", place a check next to the various stations that you are going to initialize.
- Next, select the "Start Initialization" button.
Method # 2:
Using this method, you can start an initialization session for a group of stations (like above), and while the first group of stations are initializing, you can start the initialization of another station, or group of stations.
To employ this method, you must first modify a parameter in the PrismMQService.ini file and then restart the Retail Pro Prism Replication Service. See the detailed instructions below:
- Browse to the C:\ProgramData\RetailPro\Server\conf folder on your Retail Pro 9 / Retail Pro Prism Server.
- Make a backup copy of the PrismMQService.ini file.
- Open PrismMQService.ini in a text editor, such as notepad.
- Locate the "INITSENDTHREADCNT=1" parameter under the [V9] heading.
- Change the INITSENDTHREADCNT=1 parameter to read INITSENDTHREADCNT=2.
- Save the change to the PrismMQService.ini file
- Restart the Retail Pro Prism Replication service (PrismMQService) in the windows service console.
You are now configured to run two initialization threads separately.
Important Technical Note: Please note that any time you are initializing more than one station, if any one of the destination stations is offline or otherwise unavailable, ALL of the processing stations in all threads will become stuck. Therefore, please ensure that you are only initializing stations that are online and properly configured to communicate with the Retail Pro 9 / Retail Pro Prism server.
