How to set up a Touch Menu in Prism

By using the "Touch Menu" or "Touch Pos" feature in Retail Pro Prism, you'll be able to select items at the point of sale by simply selecting or clicking a custom menu button. This can be especially beneficial to a high-volume / fast-paced retail environment by speeding up sales transactions.

Example Touch POS Menu:

Steps to create a Touch POS Menu:

Step 1: Create your MAIN MENU button. This is the"top-level" button that all sub-menus and item menus will be located in. it is common for Main Menu button to be split up by (1) Brands (2) Departments, etc. In the example above, the Main Menu is the brand, "Origins".

To do this, go to the Admin Console > Preferences & Settings > Touch Menu > Menu Designer > click the "Create Menu" button.

Step 2: Create Navigation Menu buttons. It is common for Navigation Buttons to be based on item categories, such as merchandise departments. For example, if you are running a store offering health and skin products, below is an example of some navigation buttons. When these buttons are selected, the user is either directed toward a list of merchandise items that can be clicked on to be added to the transaction, or be directed to further sub-menus of navigation buttons.

To do this, go to the Admin Console > Preferences & Settings > Touch Menu > Menu Designer > Select a Menu > click "Create Button" > Choose "Navigation" as the Button Type > Choose "Navigate to New Menu" > Give the new menu a name > Save & Exit.

Step 3: Optionally, the user can continue to create submenus containing further navigation buttons. For example, in the "Eye Care" category, you may have further sub-menus for creams, eyelash products, masks, etc.

To do this, repeat the steps in step 2.

Step 4: Add merchandise item buttons. The cashier can then click / select these merchandise item buttons which will add the particular item to the transaction. This is the entire purpose of the Touch POS Menu functionality.

To do this, go to the Admin Console > Preferences & Settings > Touch Menu > Menu Designer > Select a Menu > click "Create Button" > Choose "Item" as the Button Type > Select / Lookup a merchandise item > Give the new button a name > Save & Exit.
