Comparison Pricing

This feature requires that you first set up price levels in Admin Console > Node Preferences > Merchandise > Pricing > Price Levels.
1. With price levels configured, in Admin Console > Node Preferences > Node Selection, drill down to the desired store.
2. In Admin Console > Node Preferences > Transactions > General: "Bring Original Price from Price Level,"  select a price level that will be the base price level against which another price level will compared.
3. In the store record, edit the Default Price Level to the desired discount price level.
4. On a new transaction, add the desired item. The item is added to the document using the price level specified in the store record. If the document price and original item price are different, the Discount Amt and Discount % will be displayed.
Comparison Pricing is set at the Store level. At the Subsidiary or Corporate level, the "Bring Original Price from Price Level" preference is disabled.
Comparison Pricing and Accumulated Discounting are incompatible
The Accumulated Discounting feature enables multiple discounts to be layered on each other. For example, a 10 percent discount followed by a five percent discount. Accumulated Discounts and Comparison Pricing are mutually exclusive features. The reason is that Comparison Pricing uses the "Bring original Price from Price Level" preference (Node Preferences > Transactions > General). When this preference is selected, if there is a difference between the price on the document for the item and the price for the price level selected in preferences, the difference is displayed as the item Discount Amount and Discount %.
