Node Preferences - Hardware - Line Display
Line display preferences enable you to define the text displayed on a line (pole) display attached to the workstation or running through the Prism Proxy. These preferences ensure the desired information is displayed to customers via the line display device.
You can define one or two lines of the following:
- Default message (e.g. company/corporate info or greeting)
- Item information (e.g. description and price)
- Total Display (e.g. Subtotal and Transaction Total)
Line Display Preferences

| Line 1 | Type the message that will display by default on Line 1 of the line display. Default = Welcome to Retail Pro |
| Line 1 Alignment | Select how the default message should be aligned: Left, Right, or Center. Default = Left |
| Line 2 | Type the message that will display by default on Line 2 of the line display. Default = Serious Software for Serious Retailers |
| Line 2 Alignment | Select how the default message should be aligned: Left, Right, or Center. Default = Left |

| Line 1 | Select a Retail Pro item field from the drop-down. The field value from the item's record will be displayed: None, Item Description 1 - Item Description 4, Item Price, Extended Item Price, Item Price with Tax, Extended Item Price with Tax, Quantity, Extended Item Price, Item Description 1+Quantity, Item Description 2+Quantity, Item Description 3+Quantity, Item Description 4+Quantity. Default = None |
| Line 1 Alignment | Select an alignment for the item information that is displayed: Left, Right, or Center. Default = Left |
| Line 2 | Select a Retail Pro item field from the drop-down. The field value from the item's record will be displayed in Line 2 of the line display. Default = None |

| Genius Shopper Display Desciption | Select the item description field that will be displayed on the Genius device screen when using the "Shopper Display" feature. Keep in mind that only the first 18 characters of the description will be displayed on the Genius screen, due to the limited screen space available. |
